How Big Is Leonida? Rob Nelson’s Figures, via TGG: About Twice GTA V and Three Times Red Dead 2
After three hours at Rockstar North, TGG quoted Rob Nelson: “The map is twice the size of GTAV and three times that of the playable area of RDR2.” No official square-kilometre figure exists.
Reported, and worth being exact about the chain. This is not a Rockstar publication: it is Nelson’s words as quoted by TGG, from a three-hour session at Rockstar North, in his video of August 27 and a post on X, which specifies RDR2’s playable area. Headlines calling the size “officially confirmed” overstate it.
What it replaces: the long-running “twice the size of GTA V” claim used to rest on an anonymous leaker, and we carried it as Unverified. It now has a named Rockstar source, one step removed — which is what Reported means here.
What is still not known: an actual area. Rockstar has published no map and no square-kilometre figure, and comparing “playable area” across games depends on how much water and mountain you count.
