Unlock times
When it unlocks where you are
These are the unlock times in Sony’s regional PlayStation Store listings, gathered by GTAVice.net. The pattern is midnight in each store’s own time zone. Reported

Three things to know. On PS5, US players on the West Coast get it at 9pm on the 18th, because the US PlayStation Store opens at midnight Eastern. The “New Zealand first” trick needs a separate New Zealand PSN account — you cannot change an existing account’s country. And these are store timestamps, not a Rockstar announcement: Sony or Rockstar can change them. Xbox has not published a per-region table. Its US listing shows 05:00 UTC, and Digital Foundry reports that Xbox unlocks follow your console’s time-zone setting.

How we got here
Two delays, then a date that has held
- December 2023 — Trailer 1, “2025”
The first trailer promised a 2025 release.
- May 2025 — first delay, to May 26, 2026
Trailer 2 followed days later.
- November 2025 — second delay, to November 19, 2026
Rockstar said it needed the extra time to finish the game to the standard it wanted. Take-Two reaffirmed the date in its August 7 earnings report, and Rockstar repeated it on August 26, after the leaks.
Performance
What it runs at, as far as anyone can tell
1440p at 30 FPS on a base PS5
Digital Foundry’s read of the Extended Look: it looks like 1440p internally, spatially upscaled to 4K, at a relatively stable, well-paced 30 FPS.
No 60 FPS promise
Rob Nelson has reportedly declined to promise a 60 FPS mode, and Digital Foundry calls one on console “extremely unlikely”.
PS5 Pro, Series X, file size
No official figures. Any install size you see is a guess.
The full write-up is in our Digital Foundry story.
PC
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Likely, going by Rockstar’s history, but not announced and not dated. Rockstar has confirmed PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
History is the only guide. GTA V reached PC about 19 months after its console launch (September 2013 to April 2015); Red Dead Redemption 2 just over a year after (October 2018 to November 2019). VGC’s Andy Robinson says there is “a bit of noise” about an earlier PC version Unverified — no source named. Anything quoting a PC date is guessing. What PC cheats will likely look like is on the PC cheats tab.
Stay safe
No legitimate GTA VI download before November 12
Before pre-load opens there is no legitimate copy of GTA VI to buy or download. Anything offered is a scam. Security researchers have already found a “$50 leaked copy” site that empties crypto wallets and 100GB “ISOs” carrying ransomware.
Buy and download only from the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store or a real retailer. Details of both scams are in this story.
