Official Confirmed

GTA VI Is Rated R18+ in Australia: Sony’s Store Lists “Drug Use, High Impact Violence, Sex Scenes”

The Australian PlayStation Store page for GTA VI carries the ACB R 18+ rating with three warnings. In the US the game is rated Mature.

This is Confirmed: it comes from Sony’s own Australian PlayStation Store listing for Grand Theft Auto VI, which we opened on October 19, 2026. The page shows the Australian Classification Board’s R 18+ rating with three consumer warnings: “Drug Use, High Impact Violence, Sex Scenes”.

R18+ is Australia’s highest rating for games that can be sold; it has existed for games since 2013. In the US the game is rated Mature by the ESRB, which Rockstar’s own page started showing on October 2.

KeenGamer reported the Australian listing’s warnings on October 1, so they have been up for at least two and a half weeks.

What this does not tell you: the store warnings are the board’s short labels, not a description of how much of each the game contains. Reports that Australian players will need to show ID to play are about online age-verification rules; neither Sony nor Rockstar has said anything about that for GTA VI.
