Rockstar UK Staff to Vote on Union Recognition From November 12 to 26, Union Says

The Rockstar Game Workers Union says UK staff will vote anonymously online on union recognition, with voting running across GTA VI’s launch week.

Reported — Dexerto reported on October 28 that Rockstar Games employees in the UK will vote on formal recognition of a union, in an anonymous online vote running from November 12 to November 26, 2026. The announcement came from the IWGB and the Rockstar Game Workers Union, which posted on X on October 27: “in a few weeks’ time, Rockstar staff will get to have their own say over union recognition.”

The window opens on the day GTA VI preloads and covers its November 19 release. Dexerto quotes committee member Shanti Easton-Steel of the Rockstar Game Workers Union. It also recalls what Rockstar’s head of publishing Jennifer Kolbe told Bloomberg earlier: “So if they want a union, they will have a union.”

Background: workers asked Rockstar for voluntary recognition of the IWGB on June 30, 2026. The union and Rockstar still dispute the October 2025 dismissal of 31 UK staff. The union links the firings to union activity; Rockstar says they were for gross misconduct after confidential information was shared.

The limit of this story: we could not read the union’s X post ourselves, and the IWGB’s website had no notice of the vote when we checked. Who runs the vote, which staff can take part, and whether Rockstar has agreed to be bound by the result have not been published. Rockstar has not commented on the vote.
