GTA 6 Ships Single-Player Only — There Is No GTA 6 Online Yet
The question has been answered directly. The PlayStation Store FAQ asks “Does Grand Theft Auto VI have any multiplayer modes or features?” and replies: “Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.” Rockstar’s pre-order press release also calls it a “single-player experience”, and no new GTA Online has been announced — no name, no date, no price. The existing GTA Online from GTA 5 keeps running after launch, and Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick said in February 2026 he has “every reason to believe” GTA Online will continue to be supported. Nothing has been confirmed about carrying money, characters, properties or vehicles across. Any “GTA 6 Online release date” you see is fan speculation. Confirmed — both sources are official storefront and publisher copy.
The PlayStation Store listing runs a FAQ. It asks “Does Grand Theft Auto VI have any multiplayer modes or features?” and answers: “Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.” Take-Two’s pre-order press release describes the game the same way.
So: there is no GTA 6 Online at launch, and Rockstar has never announced one. Note the careful phrasing on our part — “not announced” is not the same as “will never exist.” Rockstar has said nothing either way about what comes after launch, and we will not guess on its behalf.
