Rockstar Confirms “GTA VI: An Extended Look” — Netflix First on August 27
Rockstar has announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. In its own words: “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET and will also launch on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9 p.m. ET on August 27.” That is a six-hour Netflix head start. It premiered as scheduled on August 27; Netflix lists it at 27 minutes, captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. Everything else stands: GTA VI releases November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Confirmed — this is Rockstar’s own Newswire announcement.
The wording that matters, quoted in full: “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET and will also launch on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website at 9 p.m. ET.”
That is a six-hour Netflix exclusivity window — the first time Rockstar has put a GTA reveal behind another platform first, even temporarily. Netflix’s own Tudum post carried the same times.
What Rockstar did not say: how long it runs, or what it contains. “More than just a trailer” was press expectation, not a Rockstar claim — we are not repeating it as one. No runtime was published in advance.
