Tribunal Lets Fired Rockstar Staff Take Blacklisting Claims to Trial — 10 September to 15 October
A preliminary decision has gone against Rockstar: the dismissed IWGB members keep the right to argue blacklisting at the full hearing, which now has dates — 10 September to 15 October 2026, before GTA 6 ships.
The dispute goes back to October 2025, when Rockstar dismissed 31 UK-based staff and three in Canada. The IWGB says they were members of a private union Discord discussing working conditions, and were fired once management learned of it. Rockstar says the channel carried confidential material — GTA 6 features, development timelines and IT security details — and cites a zero-tolerance policy on leaks.
The new ruling is procedural but it matters: the tribunal upheld the workers' right to bring blacklisting claims at the final hearing rather than striking them out. That hearing runs 10 September to 15 October 2026 — it will be over before the game launches on 19 November.
The workers' own position on the game is unchanged and worth repeating: they have asked fans not to boycott GTA 6. As they put it, they spent years pouring their work into it. Support, they say, should go to the legal fund instead.
