The Subpoena Doesn’t Stop at the Leaker — It Asks for Every Member of Five Discord Servers
Take-Two’s court order does not just seek CyberLeek. It demands identifying data for all accounts that were members of five named Discord servers — registration emails, IP addresses, phone numbers, device identifiers and linked Xbox and Google accounts. One of the named servers belongs to DarkViperAU’s editors, and he says nobody contacted him. Compliance is due 4 September.
The subpoenas have been reported for days. The scope of them is the part worth reading twice, and it is the part that affects ordinary people rather than the leaker.
The filing does not ask only for records tied to the CyberLeek accounts. It asks Discord for “all identifying information associated with all user accounts that are/were members” of a named list of servers — reported as CYBERLEEK, CINEMATICROCKSTAR, Surfer24k, Ødyssey.gg, and a server belonging to DarkViperAU’s editors.
What “identifying information” covers, per the filing: registration emails, IP addresses, phone numbers, device identifiers, linked Xbox and Google accounts, and OneDrive content related to GTA. Membership going back to 1 June. Microsoft is asked separately for the records of its own internal investigation into the persona, plus data tied to a GitHub repository.
Streamer Matthew “DarkViperAU” Judge said publicly that he was confused to be named at all, that he knows nothing about it, and that Rockstar has not contacted him directly.
Discord has not been formally served at the time of reporting, and said it would “evaluate the validity and scope before responding”. That is the sentence to watch. A platform can comply, narrow, or challenge — and which one it picks sets a marker for every future request of this shape.
