Asked About Orlando’s Theme Parks, Rockstar Says GTA VI “May Not Have Those Exact Locations”
Rockstar’s Paul MacPherson, in Game Informer’s cover story: the team picks landmarks that serve the game, “geared to getting that full Florida experience.”
Reported — Dexerto quotes Rockstar’s Paul MacPherson, Senior Vice President of Environment Art, from Game Informer’s issue 382 cover story. Asked whether central Florida, including Orlando and its tourist attractions, would appear, he said the team weighs “the diversity of landscapes, towns, structures, landmarks, vistas, plant species, rock formations, and everything else” before distilling a list that “best works with and serves the game’s needs.”
His answer: “So, while we may not have those exact locations, everything we have is geared to getting that full Florida experience!”
Dexerto’s headline turns that into “won’t include Disney World or Universal Studios.” That is stronger than the quote: MacPherson names neither park and says only that Rockstar “may not have those exact locations.”
The limit of this story: the full interview is in Game Informer’s app, which we have not read ourselves, so we cite the quote as Dexerto prints it and label it Reported. Rockstar has published no list of what is and isn’t in Leonida.
Corrected October 1, 2026: an earlier version said the interview was mostly behind a subscription. Rockstar says it partnered with Game Informer to make the cover story free in the Game Informer app.
