CyberLeek Escalates: Five Clips Out, Rockstar Issues Takedowns, and the Footage Is From Old Builds
The leak saga has moved fast since the first two videos. At least five gameplay clips are now circulating — Jason playing basketball at his house, driving, a strip-club interior, and flying — and Rockstar and Take-Two are issuing DMCA takedowns, which is as close to authentication as leaked footage ever gets. The catch: outlets place the material on old builds, from roughly 2023 to, at the newest, early 2025. None of it represents the game shipping in November.
Since the first two videos and the map image, the group calling itself CyberLeek has kept releasing material. Push Square counts at least five clips: Jason playing basketball at his house, driving and street crime, a strip-club interior with NPC interactions, and aircraft footage over the city.
Rockstar and Take-Two responded with DMCA takedowns across platforms — the standard signal that footage is genuine, since you cannot copyright-strike something that isn’t yours. In one clip the leaker shot the word “Leek” into a wall during play, demonstrating interactive access to a build rather than possession of pre-recorded video.
Two catches, per Pure Xbox and Push Square. First, the builds are old: Pure Xbox traces the footage to a 2023 build, while a 2025 song in a later clip suggests some material is as new as early 2025 — either way, not the game shipping on 19 November. Second, fake clips are circulating alongside the real ones, so treat any individual video with suspicion.
The group’s demands have hardened: it wants Rockstar to address the “all-digital future of the games industry” and to stop what it calls “fake” single-player DLC, and it warned that “if CyberLeek can reach Rockstar, no one is safe.” Worth weighing against the activism framing: the same channels are promoting a cryptocurrency, which several outlets note undercuts the stated motives.
