GTA 6 Activities
The list below runs to 15 activities, and a gallery of the ones we can actually show you in the footage — some new to the series, some returning after a long absence. Story side missions have their own page.
Every activity, labelled
The activity list
Seen in trailers, screenshots or on the official site. The list grows as Rockstar shows more.
Basketball
Last playable in San Andreas. Jason is shown shooting hoops outside his place.
Boxing / fighting
Last seen as a pastime in GTA IV.
Fishing
Fits Leonida's coastline and the Keys. Shown in official material.
Gym / working out
The San Andreas stat-building pastime appears to be back.
Hunting
Rockstar says Mount Kalaga “offers prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails.”
Kayaking
New to the series.
Mini golf
New to the series — very Florida. A Rockstar screenshot shows “Cal and another man playing mini golf at a course decorated with fake alligators.”
Off-road races
Dirt routes to go with the on-road circuits.
Pool
The GTA IV bar pastime, back — IGN lists it from Rockstar’s own demo.
Zoo visits
Rob Nelson lists “going to a zoo, studying animals” among the things Jason and Lucia can do together.
Animal checklist
Previews say every new animal you study, at the zoo or in the wild, is ticked off a list.
Backyard wrestling
Described by Engadget and GamesRadar in the Extended Look’s street montage.
Scuba diving
The Keys and the coastline are built for it.
Street races
Series staple, confirmed for Leonida.
Tennis
Courts seen at 16:33; nobody playing.
Returning from GTA V.
Mini golf and kayaking are new to the series. Pool and fighting last appeared in GTA IV; basketball and the gym last appeared in San Andreas.
Found in official footage
The footage behind the list
A dense pass at two-second intervals across the whole 27 minutes found an activity montage running 16:40 to 17:44 — scooter, airboat, basketball, cave dive, gym, ocean jump, jet ski, binoculars, kayak, club and a circuit race, one after another. The list above says what is coming. This is the proof for the ones we can actually see — a frame from the official videos for each, with the timestamp so you can go and look. Everything else on the list is confirmed in writing rather than on screen.
Airboats
Extended Look, 17:10
Driving an airboat down a mangrove channel with the minimap up — a fan-driven flat-bottom boat, which is how you move where the water is inches deep. The wetlands are not scenery.
Diving a cave
Extended Look, 17:16
A diver silhouetted in a turquoise underwater cavern with a breath meter in the corner. Not a swim across a bay — going down into something.
Electric scooters
Extended Look, 17:08
Riding a stand-up e-scooter past the murals in the arts district. A whole vehicle class the series has never had.
Circuit racing, properly
Extended Look, 17:44
A sealed racetrack with kerbs, barriers and catch fencing — not a street course. The HUD runs lap 1 of 2, position climbing 10th to 7th of sixteen, and a live timer. A white touring car in team livery among GT cars.
Street racing
Extended Look, 20:22
Tuned cars at night with a PROGRESS percentage, position 6th of 8, and a live timer — a checkpoint race through open streets. That makes three distinct race types in one video: this, the dirt bikes, and a sealed circuit.
Buying a round
Extended Look, 20:36
A club floor with DRINK and DROP prompts on screen. Small, but it means the venues have their own verbs rather than being a backdrop you walk through.
Throwing money
Extended Look, 17:42
A club interior with a THROW prompt on screen. A small thing, but it means the nightlife has interactions of its own rather than being scenery you walk through — and it lines up with the Make It Rain Mondays poster elsewhere.
Tennis courts
Extended Look, 16:33 – 16:36
The camera lifts through a gateway arch into an aerial and there they are: green hard courts with service lines, nets and floodlights, next to a car park. This confirms the courts exist — it does not confirm you can play. Nobody is on them and there is no prompt. Tennis stays expected until we see it played.
Kayaking
Extended Look, 17:30
Paddling a sit-on-top kayak through a marina with a second kayaker ahead, the skyline and an overpass behind, minimap up. The activity list called this new to the series — here it is, being played.
Binoculars
Extended Look, 17:28
A twin-circle view with focus brackets, watching somebody through a lit window from across the street. ZOOM is bound to the d-pad — the prompt is in the corner with the icon. Surveillance as a tool you hold and operate, not a cutscene camera.
Swimming
Extended Look, 17:25 – 17:26
Off the end of a pier arms-wide, and a second later at water level with a swimmer under the surface and a breath meter on screen. Not a cutscene — there is a resource being tracked.
Basketball
Extended Look, 17:15
Jason with a ball under a stilt house with a hoop bolted to it — and a SHOOT prompt on screen. That prompt is what makes it a minigame you play rather than an animation you watch.
Dirt bike racing
Extended Look, 18:30
A full race interface: lap counter, field position and a live lap timer. The position readout is the giveaway — it tells you the grid size, so these are structured events, not spontaneous street races.
The gym
Extended Look, 17:15
There are button prompts on the barbell itself, which means lifting is performed rather than selected from a menu. The plates are branded GAINZ, and the same brand turns up on an outdoor beach gym in Trailer 2.
Fishing
Extended Look, 25:45
A centre-console boat with twin outboards and rods standing in dedicated holders, three people aboard. Rod holders are a specific thing to model if nobody is ever going to use them.
Car meets
Extended Look, 26:00
A car park full of modified cars with a genuine crowd standing between them — staged as an event, not as traffic. Trailer 1 also shows classic cars parked on an ordinary street, so the culture is ambient too.
Parachuting
Extended Look, 18:49 – 19:04
The whole jump, start to finish: stepping off a rooftop, four seconds of freefall over the islands, an orange canopy opening at 18:54, then a long descent with the street grid coming up underneath. Not a cutaway — a continuous sequence.
Skydiving
Extended Look, 18:45
Freefall over the islands and causeways. It is also the best look at the shape of the map anyone has been given.
Jet skis and boats
Trailer 2, 02:18
A Seashark carrying two riders through a hard turn, with a second boat and swimmers in the same shot. The map is built around water, so this is not a corner case.
The beach gym
Trailer 2, 00:42
A second, outdoor gym on the sand with the same branded plates. Two separate locations for the same activity.
Underwater
Extended Look, 10:30
Suspended particulate, light falling off properly with depth, and an object resting on the seabed. There is a layer down there worth going to.
Nightclubs
Extended Look, 20:30
A named venue with its wordmark in lights above the door, and the footage goes straight from the car pulling up outside to a corridor of colour-changing columns inside. Named venues in GTA are usually enterable.
Strip clubs
Trailer 2, 02:06
A neon-lit interior with a performer on a pole and a crowd. A second club elsewhere carries OVER 21 and ID CHECK signage on the door, so the venues have rules posted.
Bars and terraces
Extended Look, 11:00
A daytime rooftop bar with its name in teal script above the counter, tables served, skyline behind. A different tier of venue to the nightclub — the nightlife is not one thing.
Pool parties
Extended Look, 20:15
A lit pool at night with a crowd in and around it, palms uplit in colour. The image the series has been chasing since 1986, and the first time the lighting can actually deliver it.
The dance floor
Trailer 1, 00:33
A packed interior in red and pink with the crowd picked out by moving sources. Faces at the front are hot, faces three rows back are barely lit — nobody is flattened by an ambient fudge.
Circuit racing
Extended Look, 17:45
A sealed track with a sixteen-car field — lap counter, position and a live timer on screen. A separate, more organised event than the dirt bike race.
Timed shooting
Extended Look, 18:35
Targets counting down against a clock. A scored activity with its own interface, not a mission objective.
Nine of these carry an interface on screen — the dirt bike race, a circuit race with a sixteen-car field, a timed shooting course counting targets down, a SHOOT prompt on the basketball hoop, a breath meter while swimming, a ZOOM prompt in the binoculars, THROW, DRINK and DROP prompts in the clubs, and a third race type with a progress percentage. Structured, scored activities with their own HUDs, in gameplay footage, before anyone has played it.
